The Feast of Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks.
This feast has no fixed date as it comes on 50th day after the Easter day.

യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സ്വർഗ്ഗാരോഹണത്തിനു ശേഷം അപ്പോസ്തോലന്മാരിലും മറ്റ് ശിഷ്യരിലും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ ആവാസമുണ്ടായ പുതിയനിയമ സംഭവത്തെ അനുസ്മരിക്കുന്ന തിരുനാൾ ആണ് പെന്തിക്കൊസ്ത. പെന്തെക്കൊസ്ത എന്ന ഗ്രീക്കു പദത്തിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അൻപതാം ദിനം എന്നാണ്.
